49th Radolfzell Christmas market
The Christkindlemarkt is a real institution in Radolfzell. In 2026, it will take place for the 49th time on and around the market square in front of the cathedral. Far from commercialism, authentic and regional, the four-day market offers an atmospheric ambience and a diverse, high-quality range of products.
Handmade and Unique Items
Many vendors have been part of the Christkindlemarkt for years. At the same time, new vendors are constantly joining and bringing fresh ideas with them. This way, the market remains familiar yet continues to surprise visitors time and again. Anyone looking for special Christmas gifts or little
treasures that are out of the ordinary is sure to find what they’re looking for here. Hand-blown glassware, hand-turned woodwork, beeswax candles, felt, leather, and clay crafts, fine needlework
, and creative upcycling ideas are all part of the diverse selection. Various booths feature demonstrations and hands-on activities, such as candle-making or glassblowing.
Indulgence is part of the experience
Of course, while strolling through the Christmas market, you won’t want to miss out on some delicious treats. Savory options like Dinnele from the wood-fired oven, roasted chestnuts, soups, beef strips, quiches, and grilled sausages are just as much a part of the menu as mulled wine and sweet treats. Waffles, pastéis de nata, and chocolate-covered fruit promise a treat for those with a sweet tooth. Punch and mulled wine will warm you from the inside out. The selection is diverse, regionally inspired, and made possible by the dedication of numerous clubs and residents.
Four Days Full of Magic
Precisely because the Radolfzell Christmas Market lasts only four days, it remains something special: compact, intimate, and full of atmosphere. A market like no other. Perhaps that’s exactly where its magic lies!
A nostalgic children’s carousel for the little ones, musical performances, and other program highlights provide entertainment and a pre-Christmas atmosphere, rounding out the festivities.
Further information on the program will follow at the end of 2026.

Ringing Minster
To bring the anniversary year to a festive close, the “Klingende Münster” invites you to an evening filled with music, fellowship, and the radiance of lights. In the poetically illuminated Cathedral of Our Lady, musicians from the Trossingen State University of Music and the Radolfzell Music School will trace Radolfzell’s 1,200-year history through a diverse range of musical tones. Together, they will create a rich and varied musical mosaic that takes the audience on an atmospheric journey through the ages.
A special highlight—and completely free of charge—is the big Advent sing-along on the market square. At 6:45 p.m., all Radolfzell residents and guests are invited to sing Advent carols together and get into the Christmas spirit. After a welcome address by Mayor Simon Gröger, the attendees will come together as one large choir under the direction of Pia Löb, cantor of the Christuskirche. Accompanied by a brass ensemble from the Christuskirche trombone choir and the Radolfzell Youth Wind Orchestra, conducted by Norbert Steiner and Kuno Rauch, the event creates an atmospheric moment of communal singing and togetherness.
The Advent Sing-Along is free and open to everyone—no registration or admission fee required. On this evening, the market square will become a place where everyone can come together to celebrate the Advent season through song.
This will be followed by the second performance of “Klingender Münster” at 7:30 p.m. The musical program will be performed twice on December 12—at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Reading of the historical Lake Constance novel “Flüsterzeit” – Petra Palumbo
“Flüsterzeit – zwischen Herkunft und Sehnsucht” tells the moving story of the Manogg family over several generations. Rooted in the picturesque landscape between Lake Constance, Hegau and the Swabian Alb, the descendants wrestle with the shadows of the past and the challenges of an uncertain future. From the turmoil of the German Empire to the collapse of the Weimar Republic, personal destinies are interwoven with the great upheavals of the time. Between the southern German provinces and pulsating metropolises, the life of a family unfolds as they set out without denying their origins. A captivating novel about home, departure, loss and new beginnings and an impressive testimony to the times.
“Flüsterzeit – zwischen Herkunft und Sehnsucht” is the first historical novel by Petra Palumbo, who was previously known as a crime writer under the name Luzi van Gisteren. Petra Palumbo was born in 1973 in Singen am Hohentwiel and studied business administration before working for an international corporation in Munich for more than twenty years. She now lives with her family in Radolfzell on Lake Constance, where her father’s roots lie. Writing has been her passion since early childhood: the author wrote her first book at the age of 13. She has been teaching creative writing to young people and adults for many years, including at adult education centers and as part of literary education projects. She works professionally in marketing.
The reading in October is sold out. There are still spots available for the reading on December 11 at Villa Bosch.
