DämmerShoppen – the Radolfzell city center becomes a catwalk!
The city is celebrating a big anniversary – and so is the action group! To celebrate this in style, the association has put together an extraordinary civic project sponsored by the city. On Friday, 08.05.2026, the city center will be transformed into a large catwalk for the retail trade at “DämmerShoppen” from 18.00 hrs.
Until late in the evening, the stores invite you to take a relaxed stroll and enjoy a variety of promotions and offers. Some retailers offer attractive discounts. At the Glückssträhne hairdressing salon, for example, glitter strands can be incorporated, Mode Sonja invites customers to a photo shoot, Peppe Gelato organizes an ice cream bingo and the tourist information office offers a tasting of Radolfzell’s anniversary schnapps, among other things. The market square becomes a lively meeting place: Radolfzell craftsmen and industrial companies present themselves there and provide exciting insights into their skills and work.
And, of course, the gastronomy sector will also be on hand with culinary delights. A special highlight: each participating restaurant has created its own anniversary drink for guests to sample. They can then choose their favorite from all of them. Who is likely to come out on top here?
In addition, light installations make the entire city center shine in a very special glow and turn a shopping trip into a real experience for all the senses.
The atmospheric supporting program is complemented by walking acts that perform in the middle of the action. These mobile performances as well as impressive light juggling at 9.00 pm at the Forsteibrunnen and at 9.45 pm in Schützenstraße provide unforgettable experiences. The illuminated fairy “Sabrina’s Dreamland” and the Casanietto Circus from the Engen Gymnastics Club will also be performing.
In order to arouse anticipation for the “DämmerShoppen”, an entertaining quiz about the Radolfzell retail trade invites visitors to discover the town center in a playful way in the run-up to the event.
Who was Radolt?
The exhibition “Who was Radolt?” deals with the questions of why and since when the school has borne its name. Together with the pupils, the historical background of Bishop Radolt, his work in Radolfzell and the naming of Ratoldus School are explored. The aim is to create a small exhibition about the life and work of Ratoldus and his significance for Radolfzell today. To this end, the pupils will get to know historical work and learn more about the town’s history. The knowledge gained will be presented in a portable permanent exhibition in the school building and shared with the wider school community with the help of information texts on the school website. In line with the school’s concept, care will be taken to incorporate inclusive elements into the exhibition. Follow-up projects can then be implemented at the school.
City rally of the Radolfzell daycare centers
Together with the Seehund children’s store and the Seepferdchen crèche, the Catholic daycare centres in Radolfzell are organizing a town rally where children and parents can explore the town centre in a fun way. Families collect stamps at several stations in the city center with the help of running cards. Those who complete the minimum number of stations receive an ice cream voucher as a prize, which can be redeemed at the Hausherrenfest. All interested families can take part.

Mögging Castle Festival
SOLD OUT
On the last weekend in June, the castle courtyard of the moated castle in Mögging will be the setting for the castle festival, revisiting the legendary open-air performances of the post-war period, the glittering highlight of which was the 1960 production for the 1,200th anniversary celebrations. This tradition was revived with the “Indian Princess” for Möggingen’s 1,250th anniversary celebrations in 2010 and the “Living Chess Spectacle” in 2017 on Möggingen’s village square. Among other things, this year’s play sheds light on the quartering of French officers in the castle, the involvement of individual residents of Mögging in the National Socialist movement, interpersonal conflicts during the occupation and the persistence of right-wing extremist ideas to the present day. However, the title of this year’s play “Albinle the Castle Ghost” suggests that it won’t just be about serious things. In addition to the theater performance, there will be musical entertainment afterwards: the “Alläfänzigä” from Immendingen on June 26 and the band “Sound Kitchen” on June 27. The program is complemented by a children’s afternoon on Saturday, food and drink stands (“Möggingen kocht”) and a castle illumination at the end of each performance.
Lake Constance beats
Bodensee-Beats is a new concept for the youth event Rock am Segel.
The event offers a stage for regional bands and DJs, among others, and is specifically designed for young people from Radolfzell. Rock am Segel, now known as Bodensee-Beats, has been firmly anchored in Radolfzell’s festival culture for over 27 years.
This will also make the event a highlight for young people during the city’s anniversary celebrations. The young people should also create an attractive link to the city’s anniversary through their own event.

A concert full of sound diversity, rhythm and cultural bridges!
World premiere of the work MODI RADOLFI CELLAE
A specially composed symphonic suite was created for the town’s 2026 anniversary, bringing the vibrant life of Radolfzell in the Middle Ages to life in five movements. Both secular and ecclesiastical scenes around the cathedral – from the hustle and bustle of the market to the ceremonies of the landlords – are traced in sound.
At its premiere, the 15-minute composition will be visually accompanied by a film specially produced for the individual movements by Radolfzell filmmaker Günter Köhler, which impressively underscores the historical motifs. The premiere will take place as part of the marketplace concert of the Radolfzell town band in front of the cathedral.
(W)Places write history – connecting stories: writing and reading for everyone
For over three years, eight women who couldn’t be more different have been writing together regularly: the “Miteinander schreiben” group. The women meet twice a month at the TeggIn meeting point at Teggingerstraße 10 to get creative together. For their readings as part of the town’s anniversary celebrations, the writing group went in search of personalities who are important to Radolfzell. Her texts show how many ways you can approach Radolfzell and the people who live and lived here through literature.
The eight women will present the results of their work at three readings, each with new texts: Saturday, March 14, 4 – 5:30 p.m. at the Diakonie multi-generation house at Teggingerstraße 16, Friday, June 12, 2 – 2:45 p.m. in Böhringen at Sägemühle 1 (outdoors) and Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m. – noon at the city library, Marktplatz 8. The reading at the multi-generation house will be accompanied by Christiane Hermann and Christina Bretzke on the accordion.
The project is a civic project sponsored by the city to mark the city’s anniversary. Thanks to the funding, the “Miteinander schreiben” group was able to hold various workshops under professional guidance: a theater pedagogy training course to train voice, expression and stage presence as well as workshops under the guidance of an experienced writing coach. The aim of the group is to experience the joy of writing together, to promote intergenerational dialog and to appeal to people of all ages and from different cultural backgrounds and to inspire them to write. Anyone interested is cordially invited to come to the group meetings. Info: Mehrgenerationenhaus der Diakonie, Tel. 7732 952786.
