World premiere of the work MODI RADOLFI CELLAE
A specially composed symphonic suite was created for the town’s 2026 anniversary, bringing the vibrant life of Radolfzell in the Middle Ages to life in five movements. Both secular and ecclesiastical scenes around the cathedral – from the hustle and bustle of the market to the ceremonies of the landlords – are traced in sound.
At its premiere, the 15-minute composition will be visually accompanied by a film specially produced for the individual movements by Radolfzell filmmaker Günter Köhler, which impressively underscores the historical motifs. The premiere will take place as part of the marketplace concert of the Radolfzell town band in front of the cathedral.
(W)Places write history – connecting stories: writing and reading for everyone
For over three years, eight women who couldn’t be more different have been writing together regularly: the “Miteinander schreiben” group. The women meet twice a month at the TeggIn meeting point at Teggingerstraße 10 to get creative together. For their readings as part of the town’s anniversary celebrations, the writing group went in search of personalities who are important to Radolfzell. Her texts show how many ways you can approach Radolfzell and the people who live and lived here through literature.
The eight women will present the results of their work at three readings, each with new texts: Friday, June 12, 2 – 2:45 p.m. in Böhringen at Sägemühle 1 (outdoors) and Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the city library, Marktplatz 8. The reading in the multi-generation house will be accompanied by Christiane Hermann and Christina Bretzke on the accordion.
The project is a civic project sponsored by the city to mark the city’s anniversary. Thanks to the funding, the “Miteinander schreiben” group was able to hold various workshops under professional guidance: a theater pedagogy training course to train voice, expression and stage presence as well as workshops under the guidance of an experienced writing coach. The aim of the group is to experience the joy of writing together, to promote intergenerational dialog and to appeal to people of all ages and from different cultural backgrounds and to inspire them to write. Anyone interested is cordially invited to come to the group meetings. Info: Mehrgenerationenhaus der Diakonie, Tel. 7732 952786.
Anno 1926 “Radolfzell celebrates 1100 years”
In an exhibition, the Förderverein Museum und Stadtgeschichte Radolfzell e. V. presents 40 impressive impressions of the anniversary celebrations that took place in Radolfzell exactly 100 years ago. The historical glass plate photographs from the Moriell family’s picture archive provide a fascinating insight into the festivities and atmosphere of the town at that time. Thanks to targeted funding, the original glass plates have been restored and reproduced. The prints, which were then printed in large format, will be made available to the public in a free exhibition in the town library.
