A special anniversary year needs a special sound – and that’s exactly what the song “Stadt am See”, composed especially for the town’s 2026 anniversary, delivers: modern, catchy and full of joie de vivre. The anniversary song is more than just a song – it is the musical centerpiece of the 1,200th anniversary of the city of Radolfzell. The idea: a song that captures Radolfzell’s attitude to life – young, open, together. The realization: a musical collective work from Radolfzell, authentic and full of energy. Stadt am See” was composed by Rainer Dost and produced at Studio Landei Production on the Höri – a true Radolfzell song.

Two dedicated artists who feel that Radolfzell is not only their home, but also their place of residence, have been recruited to sing: Punita Lorch and Jörn Weprich. With their voices, both represent the diversity and attitude to life of our town – young, cheerful and in tune with the times. The music was professionally recorded in the studio – exclusively by musicians from Radolfzell. It was particularly important to include various local ensembles and Radolfzell’s typical brass band music. The ceremonial premiere of the song will take place at the 2026 New Year’s reception. There, “Stadt am See” will be performed publicly by the town band for the first time – accompanied by the presentation of the official music video, which was also created in Radolfzell.

After the New Year’s reception, the song will be released via various channels – including on the city’s website, on social media and on popular music and video platforms. In this way, “Stadt am See” can be rediscovered, shared and listened to again and again throughout the anniversary year and beyond. The anniversary song was arranged in such a way that the sheet music is subsequently available to all music bands in the region. This means that the song will also be played live at festivals, concerts and anniversary events in Radolfzell and the surrounding area – and carried on by the people who bring it to life.

Because Radolfzell is not just a town on the lake – Radolfzell is also a town of music: characterized by a rich musical life, active orchestras, brass bands, choirs and dedicated individual artists. The anniversary song expresses exactly that.
